What we process, why, and for how long:

• Enquiries sent through the form — first name, email, house and dates, message. To reply, at your request (pre-contractual steps, GDPR art. 6.1.b). Deleted three years after it was sent.
• Rental and stay — identity, contact details, number of guests, dates, contract, payments. To perform the rental (art. 6.1.b). Kept for three years after your last stay, then anonymised; accounting records are kept for ten years, as the law requires.
• Legal obligations of the host — tourist tax register sent to the local authority and, for foreign guests, the individual police form required by French law. Legal obligation (art. 6.1.c), for the periods set by law.
• Access to your house guide — a technical cookie, for as long as your access lasts. Strictly necessary for the service you asked for: it needs no consent and allows no tracking.
• Audience measurement — Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views in aggregate, with no cookie and no identifier. Legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read (art. 6.1.f).
• Security — the host keeps technical logs (including IP addresses) for short periods to protect the site from abuse. Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).

Who has access — Val only. Your data is never sold or transferred. It is processed on her behalf by technical providers: Cloudflare (hosting of the website and of the management tool, email routing, audience measurement), Supabase (database), Resend (confirmation emails) and Google (email). It is disclosed to public authorities where the law requires.

Transfers outside the European Union — these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Data Privacy Framework) for certified companies, and otherwise on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and instructions on what happens to your data after your death. Write to contact@lesmaisonsdemarguerite.com: you will receive an answer within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Cookies — the only cookie set is the guest-guide cookie described above. No advertising or analytics cookie.

No right of withdrawal. The fourteen-day withdrawal period does not apply to holiday accommodation provided on specific dates (French Consumer Code, article L221-28, 12°), nor to residential leases, including the bail mobilité (article L221-2). Only the cancellation terms shown on each house page and in your contract apply.

The reviews on the Biarritz apartment page were left by guests on Airbnb, which only allows a review after a stay booked and completed on its platform.

They are a selection made by the publisher. Every review can still be read on the Airbnb listing, linked below the reviews. They are reproduced unchanged, in their original language, with the guest’s first name and the month of the stay; those written in the language of the page come first, then from the most recent to the oldest.

No review was paid for or obtained in exchange for any benefit. A guest who wishes their review or first name removed will have it removed on request at contact@lesmaisonsdemarguerite.com.

Information on this website is given for guidance and may change; the publisher takes care to keep it accurate but cannot guarantee it is free of errors. The rental contract prevails.

This website and this notice are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring a claim before the court the law designates for you.
